Privacy Policy

Falcon is private by design. Here is exactly how your data is handled. Spoiler: your files never leave your device.

Last updated: 1 August 2026

Falcon File Manager (Falcon, the app, we) is a private, on-device media vault. Privacy is the core of how the app is designed.

We do not collect your data

Falcon has no servers and no user accounts. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information or any of your files. Nothing you import or create is sent externally. The one thing Falcon sends is an automatic crash report when something goes wrong, which contains no files and no personal information, and is described below.

Some features (Wi-Fi Transfer and Portal) can move or stream files directly between your own devices over your local network, at your request. This traffic stays on your Wi-Fi and never reaches us or any server.

Your files stay on your device

All media, documents, folders, and settings you add to Falcon are stored locally on your device. The app has no cloud sync and never uploads content to external services. We have no servers and cannot access your files.

Device backups: your content may be included in standard iOS backups (iCloud Backup or an encrypted computer backup) if you have those enabled in your device settings. Those backups are Apple-encrypted and controlled by you, not by Falcon. To exclude the vault from iCloud Backup, turn that off in iOS Settings.

Permissions

Falcon may ask for these permissions, all used only on your device:

No tracking or analytics

Falcon contains no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party tracking. We do not profile you, build a user record, or share anything with data brokers or advertisers. Nothing is recorded about how you use the app. The one exception is automatic crash reports, described next.

Crash reports

Falcon uses Sentry to receive automatic crash and error reports, so that faults can be found and fixed. A report contains technical information about the failure: the error, where in the code it happened, your device model and iOS version, and the app version.

It does not contain your files, and it is not linked to you. Specifically:

Sentry handles these reports on our behalf and does not use them for its own purposes. They are processed on Sentry's servers in the United States. This is the only information Falcon ever sends off your device.

Purchases

In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple. Falcon never receives your payment details.

Children

Falcon does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time, with the revised date shown above.
